Choose The Fare That Fits You
At PNG Air, we want you to fly your way and have your travel experience to be as clear and convenient as possible. Our fare rules outline the important conditions that apply to your ticket, including changes, cancellations, baggage allowances, and refund policies.
Across all four fare types, customers can tailor their journey with optional services such as seat selection, additional checked baggage, and flexible change or cancellation conditions. Each fare is structured to give travellers choice while ensuring value at every level.
Please review the fare rules below before you book or travel, so you know exactly what is included in your ticket and what options are available if your plans change. Flights booked prior to 21 November 2025 will be subject to previous fare rules.

Fare Rules Effective 21 November 2025
PNG Air offers four main fare types – Basic, Value, Flexible and Corporate – so you can match your ticket to your budget and how much flexibility you need.
- Basic – our lowest fare for price-sensitive travellers who don’t need flexibility.
- Value – adds a checked baggage discount and the option to change your flight for a fee.
- Flexible – includes more services and lower fees if your plans change.
- Corporate – designed for business and government travellers who need maximum flexibility and extra inclusions.
By choosing the right fare at the time of booking, you can customise your trip with the baggage, seat selection and flexibility that best match your needs.
The Basic Fare is our most affordable option and is ideal if you are sure of your travel dates and don’t need flexibility.

- 1 personal item and 1 carry-on bag up to 7kg / 15.4lbs
- Checked baggage available for purchase:
- PGK 100 for 1 checked bag up to 16kg / 35lbs
- Additional bag: PGK 200 for 1 bag up to 16kg / 35lbs
- Seat selection from PGK 100
- Priority boarding not included
Changes, refunds and cancellations
- Flight or date changes: not permitted
- Name changes: not permitted
- Fare is non-refundable
- No-show: full fare is forfeited
- Cancelled bookings cannot be held in credit
Children & infants
- Child discount (2–11 years): not permitted
- Infant discount (0–23 months): not permitted
Choose Basic when the lowest fare is your priority and your plans are unlikely to change.
The Value Fare balances price and flexibility, offering better baggage pricing and the option to change your booking for a fee.

- Checked baggage:
- PGK 50 for 1 checked bag up to 16kg / 35lbs
- Additional bag: PGK 150 for 1 bag up to 16kg / 35lbs
- Seat selection from PGK 50

Changes, refunds and cancellations
- Flight or date changes: permitted
- Change fee: PGK 200 per passenger plus any difference in fare, if applicable
- Name changes: not permitted
- Fare is non-refundable
- Cancelled bookings may be held in credit up to 24 hours prior to departure
- No-show: loss of full fare
Children & infants
- Child discount (2–11 years): 10%
- Infant discount (0–23 months): 50%
Value is a great choice when you want a sharper fare than Flexible, but still need the option to change your plans.
The Flexible Fare is ideal if your schedule might change. It includes checked baggage and lower fees if you need to adjust or cancel your trip.

- Checked baggage:
- 1 bag free up to 23kg / 50lbs
- Additional bag: PGK 100 for 1 bag up to 23kg / 50lbs
- Seat selection: included
Changes, refunds and cancellations
- Flight or date changes: permitted
- Change fee: PGK 100 per passenger plus any difference in fare, if applicable
- Name changes: not permitted
- Refunds: permitted prior to departure with a refund handling fee of PGK 165
- No-show: PGK 200 to reinstate booking within 24 hours of travel
- Cancellation fee: PGK 200, up to 24 hours before travel
- Cancelled bookings can be held in credit up to 7 days after departure
Children & infants
- Child discount (2–11 years): 25%
- Infant discount (0–23 months): 75%
Choose Flexible when you want peace of mind and lower change costs if your plans move around.
The Corporate Fare is tailored for business, government and corporate travellers who need maximum flexibility and additional inclusions.
What’s included
- 1 personal item and 1 carry-on bag up to 7kg / 15.4lbs
- Checked baggage:
- 2 bags free up to 23kg / 50lbs each
- Additional bag: PGK 50 for 1 bag up to 23kg / 50lbs
- Priority boarding: free
- Seat selection: included
Changes, refunds and cancellations
- Flight or date changes: permitted
- Change fee: no change fee – only the difference in fare if the new fare is higher
- Name changes: not permitted
- Refunds: permitted prior to departure with a refund handling fee of PGK 110
- No-show: PGK 110 to reinstate booking within 48 hours of travel
- Cancellation fee: PGK 110, up to 1 hour before travel
- Cancelled bookings can be held in credit up to 14 days after departure
Corporate is the best option when you need full flexibility, extra baggage and priority services to keep business travel on track.
PNG Air offers a range of ancillary services so you can tailor your journey – from baggage and seat selection to change flexibility.
Baggage
- All fare types include 1 personal item and 1 carry-on bag up to 7kg / 15.4lbs.
- Checked baggage allowances and prices vary by fare type:
- Basic & Value – discounted paid baggage options.
- Flexible & Corporate – free checked baggage with higher allowances.
- Extra and excess baggage is charged by weight and number of bags and may vary by port.
Seat selection
- Basic and Value – seat selection available for a fee.
- Flexible and Corporate – seat selection included in the fare.
- Seat availability is subject to aircraft layout and operational requirements.
Change, refund & cancellation fees
- Fees vary by fare type:
- Basic – no changes or refunds permitted.
- Value – changes allowed with a fee and fare difference; credit allowed up to 24 hours before departure.
- Flexible – lower change and cancellation fees and refunds permitted before departure.
- Corporate – most flexible option with no change fee (fare difference only) and lower refund and cancellation fees.
- No-show fees apply if you miss your flight; in many cases your booking can be reinstated within a defined time for an additional fee.
